Squeak-squeak and hey there!

Wow, what a day we had! This classroom is full of busy little bees—I could hardly keep up! Everyone’s starting to learn each other’s names and making new friends. I’m trying to remember everyone too, but there are so many of them! Ms. Strempel said she’s going to make a picture directory so we can all remember each other better. I can’t wait to see it!

The morning started off with everyone jumping right into their jobs as soon as they came in. I was so impressed…and I thought hamsters were industrious! They greeted Ms. Strempel, put their lunchboxes away, and even unstacked their chairs all by themselves. It’s a lot to do, but they’re getting really good at it. I just sat back in my cozy cage and watched them go—so proud of my little buddies!

We had a big talk about “present listening” today. Ms. Strempel taught everyone how to listen on purpose, and they all practiced being really quiet and paying attention. I tried to be quiet too, but it’s hard when you’re a hamster with so much to squeak about! All of my new friends did so well though. When Ms. Strempel read “First Day Jitters,” the room got so quiet I could hear the pages turning. Her funny voices made me giggle!

Tomorrow, we’re going to start Creative Writing time, and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see what the kids come up with. Ms. Stremple said it’s going to be a really relaxing time, with music and everything. I might just curl up and listen in.

That’s all for today from your favorite classroom hamster. Time for me to snugle up and get some rest too. Early to bed, just like Ms. Strempel says!

Squeaky dreams,
