Dear Journal,
Today was filled with learning, laughter, and a whole lot of fun in K102! The day began with a brand new song called "This is our School Family." Oh, how I love when the children sing! The song brought everyone together with high fives, pinky hugs, and lots of smiles. I could feel the connection and unity in our classroom, and it was clear how much joy it brought to everyone.
After that, the children organized their supplies—so many crayons and pencils! Then, it was time for a special story called Mrs. Bindergarten’s First Day of Kindergarten. The book was full of rhymes and fun characters, sparking thoughts about how their own day in K102 compared to Mrs. Bindergarten’s class. It was wonderful to see how the story made everyone think and discuss the similarities and differences between the two classes.
Later, the children went to music class with Ms. Wadler. I didn’t get to hear what they sang, but when they returned, the smiles on their faces and the extra bounce in their steps told me they had a fantastic time making music!
In math, Ms. Strempel introduced a special song about writing numbers. From my cozy corner, I saw the children practicing with their pencils. Ms. Strempel explained that one of their big goals in kindergarten is to become independent and capable. Today, they learned what those words mean, and the pride on their faces was clear as they realized just how much they can achieve on their own!
Before the day ended, Ms. Strempel reminded everyone to go to bed early so they can be ready for another fun day tomorrow. I think that’s good advice—I’m going to snuggle into my bedding and get some rest too.
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
Until tomorrow,Dumpling
